Drei Dumme, ein Gedanke. Ich suchte einen neuen Sim für den Blog, Anna wollte einen Sim besuchen, von dem sie ein Bild auf FlickR gesehen hatte und Judy hatte über einen Sim auf SLUniverse gelesen, den sie sich unbedingt anschauen wollte. Am Ende stellte sich heraus, dass Anna und Judy denselben Sim meinten … Wendigo Lake.
Wendigo Lake ist die neue Baustelle von Jon Vetinari, der seines Zeichens Owner des früheren RP Sims „Shady Falls“ war. Diesen hat er aber schon vor geraumer Zeit zu Grabe getragen und tobt sich nun auf Wendigo Lake aus. Wer Shady Falls kennt, wird sehr viel davon auf Wendigo Lake wieder finden. Insofern war der Sim für mich keine echte Überraschung, da ich dort schon vor Monaten einen Beitrag für die Pixelfetzen machte.
Trotzdem bietet der Sim etliche schöne Photospots. Ich hab mich zwar hauptsächlich (mal wieder) auf die Natur konzentriert, aber es gibt schon viele Häuser zum Erkunden, die allerdings noch im Aufbau befindlich sind. Einfach mal auf die Türen klicken und eintreten … es lohnt sich!
Heute traf ich auch Jon, als ich auf Wendigo Lake zurückkehrte und noch ein paar Fotos machte. Ich hab ihn gleich mal angesprochen, ob es irgendwo Infos zum RP gibt, welches bald auf dem Sim stattfinden soll. Er meinte, dass es in absehbarer Zeit eine Webpage zum RP geben wird, allerdings sei diese noch nicht am Start. Er war aber so nett und gab mir eine Art „Pressetext“, den ich hier einfach reinstelle und nicht übersetze:
From around the world they arrived long ago, drawn to a town deep in the wilderness, despite the obvious risks. An oddly mixed population, immigrant and native – it never really grew, the tourism never stuck. Wendigo Lake is still and will always remain a small town. On the surface, the place is quiet, unspoiled and very much the way the residents like it – residents, some whom have rallied against change for years, decades, or perhaps even centuries. There’s a reason many here like things just the way they are. For them, constancy is more than complacency and a part of life. It’s life itself. And they will protect it at any cost. „If it ain’t broke…“ is an all too common refrain, spoken with the notes of a threat and the melody of a warning.
Wendigo Lake is a community harboring secrets, modern and old. Ancient elements push back against progress and urban sprawl with no more than fleeting success while age old rivalries simmer between families and clans of lore. Inevitable conflict and friction threatens to churn the serene waters to reveal what is more prudently left to rest far below the tranquil surface.
Detection and extermination are real and constantly pressing threats for certain elements of the population . A balance must be maintained, delicate and subtle in this modern world, a world where technology itself has evened the playing field.

Ich weiß nicht, inwiefern der Sim noch geöffnet sein wird, sobald das RP beginnt, auch wenn ich mir sicher bin, dass man ebenso wie auf Shady Falls mit einem OOC Tag als Besucher unterwegs sein kann. Trotzdem empfehle ich Euch, alsbald dem Sim einen Besuch abzustatten, es lohnt sich in jedem Fall!
